|After reading this forum for a while, I decided
to build my first SS. I'm using a old Peugeot frame
the 80's. It's all striped and primered ready for paint.
Also I using a carbon fork I have. Does anyone
know or has anyone striped and repainted a carbon
fork? Info would be very helpful. This is as far
as I have got so far. I will keep you posted.

|I wouldn't strip the fork down to bare carbon. Wet sand the fork until the gloss is gone and the prime it. Stipping down the bare carbon could damage the fork.|

|Thanks Dave, worked like a charm. I had brain freeze
on this one.

|Wet sand lightly with 220 enough to dull the gloss just like Dave said. Use a cheese cloth or alcohol wipes to clean the dust away and apply a few light, thin coats of paint until all the surfaces is completely painted. VERY lightly wet sand with 600, just enough to barely smooth any embedded dust but not enough to lose the shine completely, but where you can still barely see a difference. Apply 1 or 2 more light coats.|| |
