1st fixed ride of the year.look271

I finally flipped the hub over and now my SS is fixed, again. Winter cut us a break today and temps were high 40's on my ride. I'm fighting a cold but nothing better than a good ride on a cold day to clear the old nasal passages! 24 great miles. Pity those of you have to work dayshift =)
Glad you got out today.Continental

And you convinced me that I should leave work a little early and get in an hour ride before dark.

Me too. 35 miles of rolling hills fixed on the Px-10. After 3 weeks of nothing but the basement trainer it was heaven. 40+degrees and no wind. Life is good again.

Wish I could have said no wind, too, but it wasn't too bad. I had one stretch that was dead into the wind and is a slight uphill. Made for some difficult pedaling for 1-2 miles! Also, gravel on the road is a whole other thing on a fixed gear.....

Gravel on the road is bad, but you should try Amish Horse shit in the corners. It makes you feel like you are riding in the dirt. And don't go thru it without fenders. One of Ohio's little know bicycling pleasures.

I'm about 45 minutes from the heart of Amish country in PA, Lancaster county. There is a metric century down there called the "Covered bridge metric." It goes right through the heart of the Amish country and let me tell you, if it's raining and you hit that s@#t, it's like ice, only it smells a whole lot worse!
