"SE" from harris cyclery:

the link is for this year's model, though this one's last year's (or was sold as new last year). i suspect the price, new, was about the same: $650 (plus shipping). supposedly "lightly used", and is local, so hands-on review of the bike, and shipping, are not issues.

thanks in advance!

not sure what you are askingDougSloan

I you asking about the value of a used 2002 model?

I bought my 2001 during 2002 for $450, and spent maybe another $100 on changes -- cogs, rings -- and changed the saddle and pedals to ones I already had and added the front brake and lever I already had. Would have cost over $600 total to buy all new.

If it's in good condition and you don't need to change anything, I'd say $400 if street ready.

yep, you got it. thanks. nmJS Haiku Shop

I can't pass up a good deal.

my steamroller is a free/free on the back. i'm thinking about putting a smaller chainring on 'er and knobby tires, plus a small rear rack off the seatpost or saddle rails. that might promote the pista to a road-only century machine. of course, the pista would have bars inverted and chopped to make bullhorns, brake lever reversed, and some really, really, really loud bar tape. =)

I have it too. I got a Gitane that I am in the process of converting to a fixed. That would give me 2. My wife thinks I'm nuts.....but she couldn't argue with the $5.51 price tag! =)
will post proud pic if purchase pans out (note the alliteration!!!) nmJS Haiku Shop

The greatest advantage to a fixed gear addict is an understanding wife. When my bike aquisition mania passed 11 and headed upward my long suffering wife put me on a limitation of 1 new bike per year. I guess she figures it is cheaper than bar tabs. Little does she know the effect a Lycra clad svelt torso has on the ladies by the side of the road.
