Feb 4, 2004 5:12 PM | | I noticed a swiss rider running them in a pic on cyclocrossworld.com but it's true, most pros do not use them. I used them for the first half of this season but I eventually found that I used them so rarely during races that they were not worth having. I don't like descending on the tops and feel I have better control in the drops, even though I come from more of a mtn bike background. I saw a lot of racers using them for descents and in technical spots. Andy Jacques-Maynes has a preference for them and I've seen him ride on the tops through flat twisty sections and really make them look worth having. It's totally personal preference, I guess. |
