and we have pix by Brad wadlow here http://www.pbase.com/bradwa/froze_goat_2
and here's a picture of Darryl and the Mound of Renown. The race was greasy by the time the C's raced- thawed mud atop froze ground. I biffed and concussed myself warming up for the B's. I fought the stump and the stump won!
Brian Tober of Wheelfast in Chatham IL sponsored the swag which was incredible- a Sram XO shifer and derailler set and a SID fork, at the high end, for example! Plus 5 foot tall trophies with gold milking goat figures on top. We roasted a kid goat and there wasn't much but bones left when we were done eating.
This Saturday is the finale at Weentzville MO with Momentuym cycles sponsoring the swag. |
| re: the stump | richpierce Jan 15, 2004 12:36 PM | | Here's the stump. My teammate Don K had to run the last lap with a flat tire. He was pretty quick! But that stump with the paint on it has some of my helmet color on it too. |
| re: the goats | richpierce Jan 15, 2004 12:39 PM | | here's some goats. No we didn't actually kill one of these but they do look tasty! Ours was from New Zealand. I understand they plagued the filming of the Lord of the Rings. |
