Kinesis Crosslight fork vs. affordable steel offerings?Colin_S

Hi,

I have a new frameset coming with a Kinesis Crosslight fork. The frame is steel and I would like to swap the Kinesis alu fork for a steel one. But, I can't spend much. I guess I'm looking at the Kona Project 2 and the IRD chromoly fork.

How do these forks compare to what else is out there? Is it worth swapping out the Kinesis for either of these? Any other forks I should check out?

Thanks,

Colin

I have been using a Kinesis for several seasons and am quite satisfied with it. Kinesis cross forks are very common and quite reliable so if money is an issue just stick with it

Well, I have ridden the Kinesis fork on a Redline and the brake chatter drove me nuts.
Never had a problem with Kinesis forks, but...The Walrus

...if you really don't want yours and you'd be interested in swapping for a (used) P2 in good shape, let me know.
