Franken-frenchoie-cross bike is finally done!KG 361

After a month or so of playing around with my $5 e-bay special, I finally converted it to a cross bike. I had it set up as a fixe/SS but since I already have a SS/fixie and it's a 27er, the conversion of this to cross would be MUCH easier. Here are some pics of the beast. I am using a 1x9 setup using an XT rear derailer and an old Simplex f derailer to keep the chain on. It has a Nervar crank and CLB caliper brakes that should provide decent clearance. Ritchey Speed-max 700-30 tires are about the biggest that will fit. I had an old Cinelli stem adapter that a barcon fits nicely on. Pretty handy!

Cool bike, but why not put the bar end shifter on the end of the bar?

I wanted it within easy reach. It may get moved there. Visions of impalement have been haunting me! After setting it up I realize that I probably want a shorter stem for cross, so when I swap that out, I'll most likely mount the shifter where it belongs. Works well where it is, though.
