|Wish I went, but I decided against it as I came down with a little cold this past week - congestion, sneezing, etc. I was all packed and ready to go, too (just in case I felt significantly better Sat. morning). :( I need to live vicariously through you guys and hear your stories! Eric, did you obtain your desired result in C? How was that 1 Lap Challenge? How was the course? Similar to Farmington, CT, as expected? Any pics?

|Strange though, the more "fun" I have, the worse I seem to place. I placed 22 / 29 in Beg. masters. Timje was gtood enough for 4th if I had registered straight C though.
Course was, as expected from the Verge races, excellent. This one was very cool, very deceiving and very fast. High 8min lap time in our race. It streted out completely frozen, but the sunny sections softened after a few laps and as it warmed. The frozen soccer field sections were back killers the wy they tossed you around. The off camber frozen stuff threw a couple of riders; I had one lay down oops at the fence in the back of the course.
This race I didn't drop a place being out sprinted at the finish like I did the past 2 weeks.
Sorry you missed it Jeff. Didn't notice Eric either, but if he were wearing tights, you'd easily miss him!
Sad; no more New England cross this year =( 24hrs post-race and I already miss it!

|Wow - incredible that 22/29 would have been 4th in regular C! It's amazing how much faster the over 35'ers ride, eh?! I can imagine how rough the frozen soccer field must have been, as I remember the field in Mansfield last weekend being quite rough - especially on my C'dale mtb. Great that you didn't drop even one place towards the finish. I was passed by one rider on the last lap in Mansfield (before my rear flat). He passed me on the heels of one of my few "oops'", and after having some difficulty getting back into the right gear.
True about Eric re: missing him if he wasn't wearing tights. Then again, you can always look for that Colnago of his!
I know - NE cross is over, I guess. That's why I was especially mad at myself for missing yesterday's event. I even considered going to NH today (for the final stage), but it didn't happen.
I've thought about going to Winding Trails to try out the course you and others raced on a few weekends ago. I live close enough to even bike to the trail head. My only reservation is that I'm not a member. Hmm...
Did you stay and watch any other races? I saw Gullickson won men's elite w/McCormack not too far behind him.
