Does this top tube sound too short?DTB

I'm 5'10 with a 30.5 inseam. I tried out a 53 bike with a 54 top tube. It seemed pretty comfortable to me since I prefer riding upward. My friend, though, thinks this is way too short for me and it will be uncomfortable after a while. I'm not familiar with cyclocross, and I know you can't tell me what size to get, I was just wondering if any 5'10 guys out there(there seem to be a lot of us) ride a 54 tt?

Thanks

...I'm 5'11" with ~ 32" inseam; for me, a 54cm tt is borderline, even with a 12cm stem. It works well enough for 2-3 hrs, but I couldn't deal with it all day unless I raised the bar with spacers or a stem with a lot of rise. If I have to work that much to make a bike fit me, I ditch it and look for a frame that's a better fit to begin with.

...none of which necessarily applies to you. It does sound like you are long torso/short leg (like me), though, so you might look for something a bit more "stretched" and see how you feel on it.
