Handlebar position, rise, reach as compared to road bikeAsh

How do you set up your stem/handlebar position on your cross bike in relation to your road bike?

higher rise stem?, shorter stem? I'm just having hard time getting my cross bike dialed for off road.

First thing I am going to do is get the same handlebar as my road bike, so I can have some reference point.

thanks

if your TT measures the same on your road and cross frame I've found a basic ref. point is 1-2 c shorter and with a positive vs negative rise. This should give you a good start, this will put you further back for technical riding and I find I like being more up on a cx as aerodynamics are less of an influence and being back and up helps me see an maneuver better offroad.
