Just wondered, since you were pretty quiet for a week or so...

|He lives in the middle of some of the densest housing in San Diego. There isn't anything to really burn too close to his house.
The smoke REALLY sucked. I don't know if y'all saw photos, but the air was orange. It looked like fog, but smelled like a campfire.

|He's safe. I spoke to him the day after the fires moved through here. I think he's spending a lot more time tending to his new daughter and doesn't get the chance to get to a computer as often. She's a cutie. Lucky guy.
The trails out here really took a beating though. Not much left. Miles and miles of nothing but sorched earth.
|Hmmmm...scorched earth--sounds familiar.||The Walrus|

|Good to hear he (and the rest of the board community apparently) got through it O.K.
The Simi Valley fire got to within 1/2 mile of my place before the fire crews got it stopped.
Photo below is typical of what was left of virtually all the good riding out there; everything was vaporized. The good news is, there is absolutely no difficulty in following the trail now. The bad news is, it'll be like that for a few years....

|glad everyone is too. Lots of smoke, I live between the Otai and Cedar fires so it was just dense where I live. As Mr Shaw put, brown fog with campfire scent. trails here look like yours. going to ride and photo soon. Yes I'm busy as Mr Mom, but it gives me time to spin on the trainer. lost my form in June when daughter was born. Didn't get on schedule until mid Sept.|

|thx for the compliment Mr Tim. 'sposed to rain Saturday, thinking of a cross blitz in the park. lemme know if yer up for it. I heard 3 of the 'members' of Penasquitos council are not only equestrians but have equine businesses based on the reserve, can you say conflict of interest? who/where do we write to complain?
speaking of cute....

|The members of the CAC have not been determined as of yet, but there are three who are up for those positions. they are Christian and Bunny Clews that run the Clews horse ranch on Del Mar Mesa and a guy named Gertz who I don't know much about. The meeting to discuss these positions was postponed due to the fires.
The best thing to is Contact Erik Basil of the multiuse trails coalition. His Addy is ebasil(NOSPAM)@AOL.com. He will be able to tell you a lot more than I can. Basically there are three members of the Penasquistos task force that need to be contacted that are responsible for those decisions. I don't have thier addys on hand here. Erik will know.
As for Saturday, I'd love to but I can't. I'm working in PQ on Sunday. They needed a patrol to help out with a dog event. Dalmations and Equestrians. Doing what I can to give us credibility. Means Suturday is for chores, the spud and VA.
BTW. She is a cutie!
