Our local 'cross series was canceled because the promoters and the sponsors got into some sort of pissing match. Fortunately not everyone in Memphis has lost sight of what local races are about and we have two groups putting on races this fall. The first one started this weekend and is just a bare-bones, doing it for the love of the sport type thing. I was happy to see some of our strongest local riders risking injury and/or death for nothing more than bragging rights. Here are some highlights of the A race.

This was tricky because there was a 180 deg turn at the end of the barriers and then a rutted downhill section. Hopping back on took faith.

We had unseasonable warm temps, even for Memphis. Water was a welcome almost every lap.

|Come up to Michigan.
It was 50 degrees and a light rain on Sunday.
Wait until 12-7 for the state champ, it will most likely be so cold that when people talk the words coming out of their mouths will freeze right up. Now that is cold.

It was hot here to in more ways than one, but the racing was fun and we had a good turn out. Good races in Dallas Ga. this weekend, week two or our series.
