Fork rake for cyclocross rig with 72 degree headtube...PT

My cross frame has a 72 degree head tube. What fork rake would you match to this frame to give appropriate handling? My understanding would say that a "big" rake - say 50 mm -- would speed up the handling of the relatively long wheelbase (relative to road race bike), but the stability at speed would still exist due to the longer wheelbase. Feel free to comment from both emperical as well as theoretical viewpoints.

Thanks!

Most "good" makers strive for a neutral trail of about 60mm for a cross bike.Note that trail works in a fairly narrow range of about 53-70mm.

This is a trail calculater that is quite useful for answering your question.

Hope this helps
