XT/XTR front derailleur on double chainring setup?outofthesaddle

I need to use a top pull front dr and the only option that I can find (before tomorrow's race) is either XT or XTR. Are there any compatibility issues using the triple front dr on a double chainring?
As long as the shifter matches the ringsskateparks

If you have a double road shifter and a double road crankset, it should be fine. I have had some weird problems doing the same but mostly from using road shifters and MTB cranks and f. der.

I've run XTR and XT shifter with Ultegra and DuraAce STI levers with no problems. If anything they seem to shift a tad better than Ultegra or DuraAce because the curve of the derailleur cage more closely matches the smaller chainrings found on a cross bike.
No compatibility issue (or shouldn't be)...The Walrus

...half the 'cross bikes I've ridden were spec'd with LX front derailleurs and 105 STI. The combination always worked well for me.
Cool. Should work with my DA STI & FSA 'cross crank. (nm)outofthesaddle

That's exactly the set-up I have: XTR front, DA STI, FSA crank. Works great.
