I have been offered some second hand cantis.

Shimano XTR & Onza H.O

Has anyone got any experinece of either or both of these who can help me make a decision?

Thanks

The Onzas touted themselves as being really super adjustable. They are. But all that adjustment made them a bear to set up, and they frequently adjusted themselves without my input. The straddle cable, though, was really nice, and they do look pretty trick.

The XTRs are light and stiff and I think are a much better choice. You may not be able to get the same max power out of the XTRs as you might the Onzaa, but I don't think the headaches are worth the extra bit of bite.
I've got both...MShaw

Well, sorta. I have some XTs (and XC Pros, and...) in my bag o' brakes. I really like the way the Onzas adjust. I've never had a problem with them coming "un-adjusted."

You do have to watch the clamps. They have a tendency to crack.

If you run either, you'll be happy.

I've had both the canti version and the V version. Set up was simple, and power for both was very good. They were both used on MTB's though. Problem is though, I sold them. I did just buy another set for my next project, soooo, I hope this helps ya.
