|I am looking into possibly getting one of these.
Does anyone have an opinion on it?
It'd be my first single speed bike and would eventually try to race it.
Will it hold up under racing?
I'm just a scrub that trys to stay out of the way...so it won't be pounded under fierce competition.
I just love the way it looks!
Does anyone know where I can get one (new or used)? The Van Dessel site says they won't have any until Feb '04. I am in Nor Cal.
Thanks for any info....

|I think thers a couple stores onine that still have them in stock, I just saw one the other day when I was looking for a wheelset. check froogle.com, thats how I stumbled on it.
I think its a pretty sweet bike, not really a racer but I don't think you'd have any durability issues. I had one a couple years ago that I primarily used as a winter trainer. my only beef with it was the crankset thats stock is a bit heavy. had I kept it I would probly have replaced them. The frame's really well designed IMHO, for an aluminum frame its got a nice ride. I didnt ride it off road enough to have an opinion on it as a crosser but it was good on snowy roads. for the dough (the store I saw had them for $750 or therabouts) you're in the same ballpark as a crosscheck though so maybe give that some thought.
