I am building up an NOS Bontrager CX 'cross bike. As I often do, I have collected about 4 different options for canti brakes. I have the Radius, Suntour XC-Pro F&R, Suntour XC-Pro front w/ self-energizing rear and Shimano DX. I have read a lot of negative opinions on the Radius, but also quite a few who seem satisfied with them after a pad change. If you are using them and happy, please post how you have them set up (what pads and how high the straddle cable is set).

Thanks, Doug

P.S. Oh yeah, I did a search on "radius" and read most of it...

hated them with the stock pads, switched the pads out w/ new ones and now they work like a charm! I keep the straddle carrier adjusted so the straddle cable forms a 90 degree angle running from arm to arm. love' em!

A+

I used an acute straddle cable angle, closer to 80 degrees. I also changed pads and modified the "hook" which captures the straddle cable end with a file so I could remove the straddle cable more easily for wheel changes. They worked very well.
