Top pull or bottom pull? What are the opinions and reality checks?
Getting a frame built, this is one of the questions, all bikes in the stable are all 80s retro style.

Checking out the catalog choices for front derailleurs, availability is more diverse with the traditional bottom pull and limited for the top pull.

What do you folks use?
Pros and cons?

Thanks,

I've had both and I prefer top of the top tube routing with a pulley on the back of the seat tube. This allows you to use a top or bottom pull front derailleur.

I pick up the bike by the down tube and I prefer not to squeeze the cable against the frame.
