Surly Crosscheck--Good for Touring?bloodmeridian

Has anyone taken their crosscheck on any extended tours? I'm thinking about getting one to ride cross and also to ride across the country. I will probably be pulling a Bob trailer. How does the Surly ride and hold up as a touring bike? Any recommendations for other bikes would also be appreciated. Thanks.

in training for and riding a brevet series last winter/this spring, i rode my cross-check exclusively, mostly loaded with rear rack, carradice nelson longflap, fenders, lights, etc.--around 45 pounds "loaded". 1500-2000 miles of training and brevets, no problems. that was before, during, and after cross races, which also put it through its paces.

I highly recommend the c-c.
