Older cranks work with 9-speed chains?char

Halloween is coming up so putting together frankenbike #2, #1 will be the ex-cross now dedicated as rainbike/winter/commuter.

Will a NOS 110 BCD Ritchey double crankset work with the newer 9-speed Shimano gears and chain? This is not the current "130 BCD cyclo-cross 38-48" crankset offerings available in today's catalogs. I am just coming out of the retro era into the more moderne times and not beholden to using STI/Ergo - friction shifting works just fine for me. The day I lose a race due to shifting, I will upgrade!! Thanks for your help, you can find me

8 speed vintage chainrings work fine with 9 speed chains and cassettes. I am running a Mavic "starfish" (631?) crankset with 9 speed Chorus cassette and D-A chain with no issues in at a least a couple thousand miles.

Calipers seemed to confirm and chain fits, just wanted some real world riding experience. Now have to wait for the frame and build up.
