|Looking to get a cross bike, options limited to lines carried by sponsoring shop (Trek, Brodie).
I'm 5'9", 33" inseam, road bike has 56cm ST and TT, 10cm stem, 31" standover.
I'm having a hard time deciding between 54cm or 56 cm models. The 54 cm has 54 cm TT and 31" standover, or the 56 with 56cm TT and 31.75" standover.
My concern with the 54cm TT is being to far forward (endo risk) vs. the too-high standover of the 56 and risk to the family jewels.
Any input appreciated

|I'd go with the 56. if your pant inseam is 33 your cycling inseam is a tad higher 33.5 or so. that's an inch and a quarter to an inch and three quarters of S/O. you'll be fine and a 54 TT will most likely be too short. You'd have to compromise with swept back seat and /or long stem. bringing seat back will change the biomechanics of you knee/thigh etc... and long stems slow the handling too much for racing. Go big you should be fine.|| |
