Looks like Crank Bros. is trying to tighten the screws on the Time ATAC's with their new Candy SL pedal...

2-sided all-mountain pedal
4-sided entry
small, fiber composite platform
egg beater core technology
294g per pair
$140 US retail

In stores August 1, 2003

I love my eggies but they sux for cross... These will definitely be a possibility.

Anybody tried these yet?
Really? I love Eggs for muddy, snowy, icy, etc. cross...SS_MB-7

When things get really nasty, I use Eggs for 'cross and MTB. For the remainder, I use 959s. Unfortunately, my Eggs have let me down a few too many times (3) so I can't trust them as an everyday pedal...for that, I go with the 959s....fantastic pedal, but not as good as the Eggs for mud, snow, etc.

I love my Eggies for everything but a cross race. As GlowBoy put it, the Legbeater effect sux. Ouch.
Hmm, intriguing ...GlowBoy

This would solve my primary objection (the Leggbeater effect) to the Eggs and my primary objection (weight) to the ATACs I am still using. If Crank Bros. can get their quality problems under control, this might be just the ticket!
