Seatpost - Road Bike Question(s)DavidK

I have an old Cannondale (circa 1989) with an American Classic aluminum seatpost and a Rolls saddle. I am looking for a cheap way to smooth out the ride a little. Would a carbon seatpost help? I weigh about 210lbs and have been afraid of carbon in the past.

I have a Cane Creek Thudbuster on my MTB and like fine for MTB but would not like the bobbing feeling it has on the road. (I may try it on my Jake though.) Anyone else use a thudbuster?

Thanks. David K

I think maybe a more comfy saddle would be better. Seatpost is no place to skimp in my opinion.
