Based on some great advice, I'm checking out lots of steel frames . . . in the interim, does anyone out there have experience with the Airborne Carpe Diem (titanium) or the Fuji Cross (aluminum frame with carbon fork)?

I think it's a great frame. Used a flat bar with MTB brifters, brakes and rear end and road bottom end. Works and rides very nice.

There is a guy, Keith Defiebre, who does the local Norcal races with two Carpe Diem's. Check the Central Coast series since he is one of the promoters.
