how narrow a tire should I try?Eric Marshall

CyclocrossWorld is carrying the new TUFO Elite LPS Clincher/Tubular tires, http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cyclocrossworld/tufellpsclin.html, but the widest size available is 30 mm. I currently weight ~170 lbs and ride Michelin Muds. I use the bike mostly for racing, some commuting, and even less single-track riding. Although the Muds are also marked as 30 mm, they are really in the 35 mm range. I haven't made the big jump to tubulars yet, so these tires look like the best of both worlds, but I am unsure if 30 mm is a suitable size for me.

Thanks in advance.

...unless you ride in a lot of loose stuff. I've got quite a few pounds on you, and I ride 30c Kenda Kwicks much of the time, and they do the job. Of course, here in SoCal mud is not an issue, but on the rare occasions when there is some, I find myself wishing I had 35s.

have the 32 Tufos and I'm 230. 30's will work in some stuff fine. I perfer the 32's and I'm setting up the 34 tubies soon.
