| what to look for in a 'cross wheelset | Becky Apr 14, 2003 8:05 AM | | My dad is interested in building or buying a bike to replace his aging road bike. He would like to be able to ride some trails back to his favorite fishing streams (nothing too technical), but still have a bike set up for road riding. I'm leaning towards building him a 'cross bike with a couple of wheelsets for swapping as the conditions warrant. I'm not concerned with a road wheelset- just about anything will be ok in that department- but I'm not very sure about what kind of wheels he would need for riding off-road. Nothing too fancy or lightweight here....just a dependable wheelset. Any advice on what to look for? Thanks in advance! |

The old standby is the Mavic O/P to eithr hub. the cxp Mavics work well too. |
