Heard they're a darned good CX wheelset. I'd prolly have to get 'em in the 20F/24R spoke option.

Currently using stock C'Dale wheelset: Mavic CXP 21/C'Dale Expert hubs/DT Champion spokes, 28F/28R.

I'm using a 24 spoke Spartacus for my rear clincher wheel (commuting, training, deep-mud racing & singletrack riding), and so far it's held up to some pretty serious smacking around.

I'm not sure what the difference between the Spartacus & Spartacus Pro might be, other than then color -- both use the very strong Velocity Deep V rim, as well as the same spoke patterns & counts.

Cheers!

I am also considering the Spartacus Pro's on my new cross bike. Spoke with Doug at Velocity the other day, some of the differences between the Spartacus and Spartacus Pro's are weight as well as the Pro's being anodized. I would suggest calling Doug if you have questions as he actually builds the wheels and seems very informative.
Thanks for the info, guys...Art S
