Tektro 917A V-Brakes/ Road levers- a match?Auriaprottu

...saw these in Mud Sweat and Gears online catalog. The website recommends them for cross, tandem and road levers. The arms are shorter than their usual models. Do they need travel agents to work with road levers? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the same thing as the Mini-V that Tektro makes for BMX bikes; I used them briefly with some old 105 levers (without Travel Agents), and they were OK. They didn't have any more power than cantis, and there are some serious clearance issues--you can't really run tires larger than 30c or 32c with them.
