K2 Enemykermit

Does anyone here own a K2 Enemy? Anybody have any opinions on the bike? Specifically on the frame and fork. I'm thinking about picking up a new frame and fork as I can get it for $300, but I've never seen one in person and I can't find too much info on it.

I'm looking around for a good deal on a 'cross frame. Fedex managed to destroy my Jake the Snake frame and fork so I'm looking for a decent replacement that isn't too expensive, like under $600. Any suggestions? How about a Redline Conquest (Pro), Trek XO or an older GT ZXR. I'm not racing cross, just commuting and trail riding so the GT triple triangle doesn't bother me.

3.7lbs frame, forgot how much the fork weighed. for $300, I would get it. a better option would be the Colnago Dream Cross (aaah!!!) but even if you get it from Maestro the frameset costs nearly 4x as much.
however, why not get steel? it won't be that much heavier than the K2, and it will be more durable and more comfortable. since you're commuting and trail riding, those two characteristics are probably the more salient ones. the Surly Cross Check, while heavy, is dirt cheap. personally, I race, and I would certainly get the K2 for $300 (if the damn thing fit, which it doesn't). I think it's more of a race bike than a do-anything bike.
Still willing to consider a Jake? The Walrus

I've got a 52cm '01 I need to sell, either as a complete bike or frame/fork...

just built up an enemy I bought on ebay, the framejiggs

seems light and strong, has canti/vee bosses and disc front and back. I hooked it up with T520 rims I built on some real hubs with 14 ga spokes and am running mutanoraptor 700x44 tires, with 26" tubes. Not exactly a cyclocross setup but I will ride it in some longer xc races that are not too technical. It rolls fast, is stiff but strong, and with fsa crank, hmx mech disc front, avid 2.5 rear vee, easton carbon flat bar, speed dial levers, sram shifters & rear derailleur I like it a lot. K2 seem customer oriented as well. bob

anything on ebay, usually am sniped at the last minute, so I was surprised when I actually was able to be there at the end of a bid.
