IRC Cross Country 700x35c ... any good?GlowBoy

Found a pretty good deal on these - fairly aggressive tread:

I'm thinking about using this for dirt/fire-road rides with some loose gravel that call for something more than a semi-slick, but where my Kenda Kross Supreme is a little more than I need. Anyone tried it?

Good enough for me... They work great on all of the trails and roll okay on the road...

Came stock on my Trek. I'll be swapping to Michelins when these wear out.

yes, have a set as well. tend to wear fairly quick on the road though. actually used one in a race when I tore a Michelin sidewall on the day before training ride. as for mix tire, try to find those geax. They look almost like road tires with elliptical tread on the side. They actually hook up in dirt as well or better than most semi slicks and rock on the road. Plus you can get them in 38's.

Just picked up a pair on eBay for $13, so not too much of a loss if I don't like them or they wear out fast.

Which GEAX do you mean? The Blades? My LBS has those for about $18 (wire-bead, 700x33)

Good tires for fire roads, gravel, or dry trails. They get a little squirrely on the road if you approach 25-30 mph and they load up quickly in any kind of serious mud, but other than that they're a good tire.
