(x-post to MTB Review SS forum)

Just got back from the bike shop, and from taking an initial spin around the neighborhood (with a fixed gear setup). Holy sweet ride! I can't wait to get out this weekend for more.

The frame was great. Other than having to wait twice as long for the frame as what I was originally told, I only have one minor gripe. It looks like my frame missed final honing of the seattube after powdercoat, so it was very hard to get the seatpost in/out. My LBS honed it out a little (which helped some), but I'm planning to do a little more honing eventually.

I ended up going with a 100mm Cannondale stem, which is about 5-degree rise. The steerer tube will be trimmed down soon...I just wanted to be safe.

This bike handles really nicely. Here's the final pic (minus bar tape).

you are riding a freehub for cross season I hope? can't see coming into a barrier with a fixed gear.
