Need your vote: What color for my custom CX bikeSJT

I need to choose what color to get for my new CX bike, but I can't decide. I really like both the limelight green and the sunny day yellow, but the gun metal gray is pretty cool as well. Here is a link for all of my color choices: and below is a pic that has the top two colors on my list (if you can't read the writing on the tubes, limelight is the first color on the left and sunny day is the third). I'm going with a Dimension disc fork, so base your decisions on what would look nice with a black fork up front. I already have an orange bike so orange is out. So what would you go with?

I think we conversed on the general message board a couple of years ago. I probably went by the name DanB. Did you buy a used Kona and then a Blizz?I was giving you the poop on my kona bikes. If I goofed up the initials here, sorry.

Anyway I'll vote for orange too. Just kidding. A tough call between the lime green and sunny day yellow, which looks like it might be close to mango. I don't know if you had the chance to see a strong frame in lime, but I think there is a green strong in the road bike gallery. I just tried to get in but they are having problems. I'll look for it later, its pretty far in I'm afraid.

Of the three you mentioned I'd go for the sunny day yellow.

I'm new to cx bikes too. Got one last year, so I'm not one to give out too much advice. I'm swapping out my avid shortys this year, see post below, I don't reccomend them. I'm also putting brake levers on my uppers since I do a lot of upright riding.

Yep, it's me you were giving the advice to. I now have two Konas (1 geared, 1 SS) and the Blizzard. I'm getting a CX bike because I want a bike I can commute to work in and something I can use as an all-around bike. I figure I might as well go custom this time around. The sunny day yellow does look a bit like mango, I kind of like that. My Kona SS is painted orange (kind of like Strong's zesty orange) so that is why I'm avoiding orange. Don't want two bikes to have the same color. I also figure yellow might help me be noticed when on the road commutting? I'll see if I can find that green Strong frame in the gallery. It is very cool that you remembered me. You were a huge help for me back then. Take care.

I'm assuming they're lime. One shot looks a little bright the other a little dark. You'll get the idea.

Thanks for the link. I think I might go with the sunny day yellow after seeing those pics. It's not that it doesn't look good...just not what I want. Thanks for your help.
nice looking bike!laffeaux

I don't think I'd have picked green as an option, but after seeing yours I like it. That's a nice looking bike.

I just wanted him to see what strong lime bikes look like. I've got an orange kelly, although I'm definitely a fan of that kawasaki like green.

sunny day is the way to go with black lettering.Everthing except the frame black , awesome and makes the yellow look brighter, if thats possible.

I like your thinking! I think that is how I'll put the bike together. Sunny day yellow frame, black fork, with all other components in black (i.e., bars, tape, black 105 groupo, wheels, hubs, etc.). The only things that will be silver will be the discs, front derailleur (don't think they make a black one?), chain, and cassette. That should look nice and be pretty unique compared to most bikes that are flashy and have a ton of different colors on them.
Can you do a fade?Wheelz

A fade from green to yellow would look really cool, either front to back or top to bottom!

That would most likely cost extra. Might look cool though. As I'm trying to keep the cost of the bike within my budget (slightly over budget as it stands right now), I'll just stick with the standard single powdercoat that is included in the price of the frame. Green and yellow were my top two choices so combining them was a good idea. Thanks.
