|Newbie question: I want to put cyclocross tires on Alex DA16||dr feelgood|

|I'm riding with a Specialized Sirrus 2003 which has Alex DA 16 rims.
It has now 700*28 tires on it, but I would like to put 30 or 32 cyclocross tires for offroad riding. Is this possible?
If yes should I also change the inner tubes?
Many thanks for any insights.

|The CX tires are not much wider then the tires you already have on there. Usually the tubes have a little room to expand so you're probably fine with those tubes also...
JUST make sure that your frame and brakes have enough clearance to accept a slightly larger tire...

|If the pic is your bike, I'd guess that the 'cross tires would not fit. Newer Shimano road brakes generally do not accept anything wider than a 28mm tire. Assuming that there is enough clearance for the tire inside the caliper, you'll more than likely have to let air out of the tire in order to remove it from the bike.
However, to answer your question, the tire will fit on the rim without any issues.

|so you shouldn't have any issues with brake/tire clearance with that combination. The only issue may be with frame/tire clearance. Mount them up and give it a try.|

|They looked like road calipers to me. Ooops.|

|I have a Sirrus Pro with Ritchey Speedmax cross tires on it in a 700 x 30 size. They fit well, an it looks like you could go 32. My bike is a 2001 model. Hope this helps.|| |
