|Hey guys... Hope everyone has a nice holiday.
I'm gonna change out my shifting cables this weekend, and I was wondering if the little adjuster my bike came with is really necessary.
It seems to have scratched a little paint on the frame, and I kind of just think it's ugly.
I don't imagine it's a must-use type thing, because I've seen plenty of bikes w/o them. Is it just a "nice to have" sort of thing or what?

|My Surly is set up without the cable adjuster on the down tube cable stop. If you remove it you won't be able to adjust the derailer on the fly (something I find I never do).

|I don't mind mine. I actually use it sometimes.|

|These work very well. Your LBS should carry them (under the Jagwire brand); they're about $9/pr.|| |
