|Performance Fuego Wheelset - Can it hold up for cross riding||NEthingbutlast|

|Does anyone know if the Performance Fuego Wheelset can hold up for cross racing/riding? I race C's (if you consider my abilities racing), so I don't need the good stuff. But...then again...maybe i hit more bumps than your average crosser (oops!).
I don't have a lot of $ to dump into a nice wheelset and these are going for around $230 (plus i'll get an addn'l 10% for my membership).
Any opinions OR other options would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

|For $230 I would look elsewhere. Mystery hubs and rims don't sound like a good choice for the long term.
I would suggest seeing if a local wrench can build you up some wheels. Look for basic stuff that is durable and repairable... Maybe Ultegra/XT hubs and velocity Aeroheads, Deep V's, or Mavic Open Pros.
Now you can choose the # of spokes, type of spokes, and lacing pattern to have a wheelset that is truly built for your needs.
Better yet, get the Spin Doctor Truing Stand on your Performance membership and build the wheels yourself. It's not nearly as hard as you might think it is to build wheels, plus you learn a skill...

|both Supergo and JensonUSA have Ultegra Mavic O/P's for $199. You could get 105's for cheaper. I'd go this route.|
|Thanks for the input! I'll go with Plan B! (NM)||NEthingbutlast|
