Hi. I've been looking at cross frames from Kelly, Sycip, Steelman, and Soulcraft. Am I correct in thinking Kelly top tubes are quite a bit shorter than the others? I'm looking at 53s (54 top tube) and 55s (55 top tube). Therefore the wheelbases seem pretty short. This seems like it would be great for agressive upright riding, but not so great for stretched out riding on smoother surfaces. Any thoughts on this. I'll be doing a fair amount of commuting and I actually prefer a more upright position, but I'd like to hear what Kelly owners think.

In 5'8 , 32.25"inseam riding a 55cm with a 55cm TT. The spacer stack on my bike allows me to rise or lower the stem given what im riding. With the tops of the bar horizonal with the TT riding on the hoods on the road is pretty comfortable.

I have a 55cm Kelly Knobby Cross and a 53cm Sycip Cross Dresser. They are almost exactly the same size with 1/2 degree difference in the head angle. If you would like to discuss the the ride, fit,and handling please email me at www.daysriver@yahoo.com
