I have a question about what cranks, bottom bracket (spindle length)
guys are running on their Steelman's. I have Race Face MTB cranks
and Race Face Isis bottom bracket with 108mm spindle. In order to get
the chain line right I have to offset the bottom bracket which means there is about
a 5-7mm diference between the drive side and non drive side crank arms to the chain stays. I ask Brent and he said they have had zero luck with the Isis stuff, and mentioned using Ritchey Cranks. What are you guys using?
Road cranks? If so what spindle length works?

I used to run a RaceFace 48/36 crank with a DA 8-speed square taper BB (103mm spindle). Anything longer like a UN72 107mm spindle and I couldn't use a road front der.

This year I chucked the RaceFace cranks and went with DA 46/39 cranks and a DA 109.5 splined BB. Excellent shifting. Fast and completely reliable with a DA front der.

Running a MTB crank would maybe perhaps require a MTB front derailleur! (or a road triple).
Put a XTR front derailleur on and now shifts perfectly, chainline perfect, BB centered.
Thanks to the LBS.
