Avid Tri-Aligns for brakes?Look381i

I am building up a new CX frame and trying to do it justice from my parts bin. I have a pair of old Avid Tri-Align IIs (I think that's what they are) from a mountain bike. Any reason they wouldn't work well for CX? Tri-Align are called that because they adjust along three planes. They worked quite well for my mtb.

I wasn't getting as much power from the Tri-Aligns as I did from a humble set of LX cantis. That straight canti arm on the Avids just didn't allow as much "leverage" with STI levers as I wanted. They were adequate, but I needed more than that.

I agree that they're great MTB brakes, though.

I was using Spooky's before but didn't like them. Switched to the TA 2's and love them. More power and totally adjustable. Been using them for the entire season so far and no problems.
