|the Prestiges save 70g in the 30mm size. and they cost $96 a pair as opposed to $70something. which one?
or, there are a pair of 28mm Clement Grifo Neves on ebay. do I get those? are they wide enough (Midwest cross courses are mainly grass; nothing truly heinous). and yes, before you ask, I do know they're tubulars.

|Here's what my riders tell me. The Pros are tackier than the Prestige. They also say go for the 34s. Sometimes on grass tracks we switch to Michelin Mud Cross. Mostly if the grass is wet.|

|Have used the Prestige tires in the 32mm size. Switched this year to the new LPS Elite tires (yellow w/black sidewall). I have a set of 30's and 34's for different conditions. I much prefer the new ones as they are much tackier then the old Prestige tires. Good Luck.|

|Yeah, the Elites rock. They're the best by far but kind of pricey. Now for those of us that hate yellow (not me).|

|I'd definitely like the Elites. but buying the Prestiges will already be a stretch for me. frankly, if I can get away with the T34s or 30s, I'll do it.|

|They ain't cheap. I usually charge $130 for a pair of Elites. But I do have a pair of Prestiges in 32 that I would part with for $80. It's getting to the end of cross season and they'll be hanging around until next year.|

|I bought used (:^O) Elites, 32 width, from Zed. The 32s look about as wide as Sprints, but ride significantly wider, since you can go softer. If there's sticky mud on yr courses, the 34s might be a liability, too fat.
I really love them TUFOs. *tears well up*

|Don't go with the prestige I know a lot of people who have had a problem with these tires getting very slick after they dry up after a rainy race. As for the Grifo Neves they are a nice tire but the 28 is pretty small. I had a set of these and they are more like 27. They are good for a fast race with mainly grass but I wouldn't do anything to extreme on them.|| |
