Where (whether) to find cross tires for 26"(8 posts)

Where (whether) to find cross tires for 26"outofthesaddle

After getting some good advice to run my mtn bike for my first 'cross race - I can't seem to find 26" x 1.5 tires at any of the shops in my area. Does anyone know where I can order a 1.5 with a 'cross friendly tread pattern?

Thanks,

Sean

Use the Continental 26"x1.5" x-countries. They have them in stock at www.universalcycles.com Talk to Mike and tell him Pat from Salem sent you.

You'll also need tubes no bigger than 1.5" Standard tubes 1.5-1.95 or bigger won't fit.

I think I remeber you telling me that you live in the SF Bay area, if so, Cupertino Bikes carries them (408) 255-2217.

Cambria Bike has both the folding and wire bead version - only $18 for the wire bead version ($40 for the folding version). There is a 50g weight penalty for the wire bead - for $22 off that might be an acceptable weight penalty...
