Depending on your budget, I would recommend one of two things.

High-zoot: Go with Chris King. I have them on two of my bikes, and you can't beat the quality/longevity.

Low-budget: I just picked up a 1 1/8" Aheadset from a seller on eBay who has a ton of them listed (he got a good deal on 2600 or so headsets). I bought mine with the "Buy-It-Now" option for $6.99 + shipping.

Let's see. If you'd like to install it and never have a problem...Buy a Chris King. The only thing you might have to deal with is people looking at you like your some kind of a rich punk. Other than that they are the best. (my opinion.)

Kings are the best but they will cost ya. 2 good and more affordable alternativess are the Cane Creek and the Syncros. You can find deals on both with most web bike stores. The Syncros is as watertight as a frogs butt. Great Seals. I'm running one of each and report excellent results.

You know - People always seem to want a King headset. They claim the longevity is great. I have had many bikes over the years and see tons of mud and crap conditions. So far I have NEVER had a headset die-even a little piece of crap model on my BMX bike as a kid...... and the only headset I ever needed to even do any work on in my entire life was........my King. I have 2 King headsets - both were prodeals and I got them for less than I could have gotten a diacompe. I'd never pay close to retail for a King.
