This may be a silly question but I am new to cross and researching my first cross bike. What is the usual range for standover clearance?

I'm riding with 3 cm of clearance on my present bike but thinking about getting another frame with 4 cm of clearance. The tough part is getting the right TT length while maintaining the desired clearance.

I'd say 3 inches at least. However, for me to get three inches on any stock bike, the top tube will be shorter than I like.
Thats why a lot of people have custom built frames. When researching the bikes, note not only the standdover, but the top tube length as well.

my roadies are snug to me. My cx bikes have about 3cm of SO. I ride 60-61 roadies with 59TT's and 57-58 Cx with same TT's. Remember you also lose SO in BB height and taller tires
