Cantilever brakes other than Avid shorty 8?Max11

I'm looking for a set of brakes that will work on my older cross bike. I have some LX cantis that work but wanted an upgrade so I bought the Avid shorty 8 thinking they are one of the best. But when I mount them, the brake bosses are mounted to high or the spacing between them are to close (I feel the latter is true). Anyway, I can't get them lined up ( the brake arms won't line up parallel to each other and the brake pads don't drop low enough, they can get to 45 degrees with the smallest 3 mm spacer) and now I have to look for some other brand or go back to the LX which I'd rather not do. Anyone know of canti brakes that are good and highly adjustable for brake bosses that are set to close together. HELP!

I'm using an old set of Avid Tri-Align 2's. They have more adjustment options available then any other canti I have seen, including pad height, toe adjustment, and even spring tension adjustment. You may have to do some searching to find a pair though.
