I thought I overheard that the next Boulder race will be back at the Boulder Res? Can anyone verify that?

The Boulder Res is the next and last venue for the BoulderCX Series.

Regarding the course, you've seen what's out there, lets hear some suggestions... take note, we can't use any nice green grass, the kind around the main buliding or cross any of the green grass - thats why last time we followed the beach all the way to the boat ramp.

What we are thinking this time is a more twisty windy course, using only the territory west of the main building, thus less sand riding. But there are goat heads in the fields close to the west entrance as we saw in the earlier races last time. Also, the course length last time was too short for the officials, barely 6 mins for the fast guys.

What do you suggest ? - another venue is a moot point.

yuck, i was hoping for another race at the "famous research park course".

suggestions -
*don't run us along the water this time. the only way to ride it last time was slightly in the water and if it is cold it will be horrible....

*maybe ride us down to the beach and then run us straight back off of it??

*what about moving the course more towards the little s turn section from boulder roubiex?????

What day? What time? How much? Rules? Website? What info can you give to a newbie racer/firstimer?

Thanks,
Steve

As far as the course, anything but all the sand/water. I'll take the goatheads anyday. Maybe as was suggested and move the course toward the Boulder Roubaix s turns? I know how difficult it can be to set a course with all the restrictions put into place by the landowner, and I will be at the race, beach or no beach, I just hated that section.

I thought the Boulder res. course was awesome. Nothing like it had ever been done before! It was like one of those Dutch cross races by the North sea or something. That course demanded some horsepower. If you're asking for suggestions, I would agree with p lo to include that little chicane section used in the Boulder-Roubaix race. Otherwise have you thought about doing the race in reverse? (it may increase lap times a bit to do the pavement stretch uphill, although not by much). Just a thought. Thanks for asking. We'll be there no matter what because we're all a bunch of addicts in need of a fix.

I agree -- the beach was different and cool (not that I was fast on it). that was also the hardest course we've done all year. I think running the course in reverse is an interesting idea, because i would have liked to do a bike change, but the pits on the 1st course were in a really fast section. in a slower section i think i might take advantage of a clean bike -- especially if we're in the beach and water again.

Maybe do both? keep the beach and add some more twisty stuff on the westside? get the lap times up and dilute the effect of the beach grind too?

I liked that the course required horsepower, but didn't like the sand... less so if it is cold this weekend. I agree with the others (and was bummed that it didn't last time) but include the chicane from Boulder/Roubaix if possible! Also liked the 1st sections last time that led up to the beach... just not the beach! Great series though! Thanks!
3 days to the race.....p lo
