Has anyone out there used these shoes with time pedals. I'm having trouble getting them to clip in as quickly as my old northwave shoes. Are there any modifications to make to the sole or cleat placement that can help me get in more quickly.

I've heard about altering the sole of the shoe but I'm not sure how or in what way.

Prior to Eggbeaters and more recently Shimano 959s, I've used my 220s and 320s with ATACs without any issues. Well, actually, I did have one issue with the ATACs and Eggs in that the bars really wear a groove into the sole of the shoe.

Do you have the cleat with the star (*) on the same shoe as the Northwaves? This will effect release angle.

need a certain amount of 'open space' around them to function perfectly. I can't remember the distance off hand but it is spec'd when you buy the pedals and/ or cleats. Find the number (anyone know offhand) measure your open space and trim away to fit if it's too small. I used a razor knife a couple years ago to do this but my recent shoes have been okay.
