|I have never raced cross and have seen two ways to dismount - one bringing the right leg over the top tube (like I did when I was a kid) and the other bringing the right leg over the saddle from behind (which is how most of us dismount a bike normally).
Which is "right" and what do most people do?

Never hurts to go check out a race before you try one either -- or just go real early and watch the other races. You can learn a lot that way. Nothing beats doing it however...

|rt leg around back of seat. for fast dismounts bring in between left leg and frame. Step forward and kick left foot free while grabbing TT for support. for slow dismounts you don't have to bring rt.leg through, you can dismount by stepping back.|| |
