|Thanks to those who came for a fun Sunday. Three more races to go! The points leaders will get a brand spankin' new Gunnar Cross Hairs frame. Senior C's, B's, and A's all have a spot for a frame. All other classes will receive goodies from Chris King, Phil Wood, and Innovations (co2).
It is a tough course and I make ppl suffer. The very last race will be a tad longer in time and distance.
Thanks again for coming!

How'd the weekend go for your riders?

|I used to tell everybody, "I'm a average rider with moments of glory." It wasn't a good weekend for us. Justin and I just blew it off and didn't race. I got a bunch done around the house. Now the wife will give me a hall pass to go race the next few weekends. Rich had mechanicals and pulled out and David just pulled out exhausted.|

|I like that "average rider with moments of glory". That fits me really well actually. The moments have last up to a month or two, but never longer.
I was feeling pretty bad most of last week (only rode once for an hour) and then really only pushed it for the first ten and last five minutes of the race. I really did just enough to finish well. I was thinking I might be a bit overtrained, but now I feel fine. Maybe it was some weird Sacramento-area cyclocross racer bug. Though, every else seemed ok. . .

|This is the ugly hill...never seen anyone bike it up, but it adds to the challenge in a big way.|
Oct 28, 2002 7:59 AM
|I've only seena couple of ppl run up the hill...this is a lung buster...but the reward is going back to the gazebo...you get to be on a downhill and then it's a fast cruise to the next little hill.|

|Here, riders can immediately mount en route to the gazebo. This is a fast part.|

|Didn't Mike get second in As? I know he got two flats and otherwise would have crushed us into a pulp. I thought the guy who got second overall was the first A.
Thanks for taking the cool photos. I felt pretty bad yesterday, but I was able to get out early and stay out of trouble for the rest of the race. It was all about staying smooth and relaxed. I liked all of the changes to the course. The new climb is better that the old one and I like the new barriers a lot. Only 3 more to go!

|We tallied up the results last night and yeah, he did get 1st. I messed up at the end of the race and in the process goofed Sarah up too. But we re did the calculations again 2wice and Mike got the 1st spot.
I need a new camera. My old Mavica sucks.
Anyway, you kicked butt again! you're a few steps closer to a new frame/trophy/prize.
I'll be at the winery next week to figure out the new course. It has a steeper uphill (across the tasting room) and it will be a whole lot different than the one from yesterday.

|Here's the other end of the row. It's .25 miles from the entrance to the exit, and very hilly. The barricades I used were ATV tires, double stacked.|
