Larry sent out postcards notifying people that the series was cancelled. I just got mine in the mail last night. Looks like it as a bit premature and the races are on again...
Damn it! I got drunk and ate half an Eduardo's last nightAlex-in-Evanston

Am I getting into race shape or sliding into hibernation? I need an answer on this before Halloween candy season.

GOOD NEWS - here is the latest e-mail going out from Larry:

"I am happy to announce that the Rockford Cylclocross Series is up and running again. On Friday, Oct. 11, we were informed "there would be no racing in the Rockford Parks because of user conflicts." Steve and I tried to find some other sites at the last minute, but, decided to cancel the series. Sunday, Oct. 13, I handed out 100 notices at the first Wis Series race, and mailed 400 postcards announcing our cancellation. By Tuesday, Oct15, the Rockford Park District and Mayor's office were inundated with phone calls and e-mails expressing their disappointment of the Cross cancellations. I recieved a phone call Tuesday, saying we are welcome in the parks again. POWER TO THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE.

We are meeting at Blackhawk Park at noon this Sunday, Oct. 20, to do a "training race" (no entry fees, no prizes) and discuss dates and venues. We are thinking of having the first race Nov. 17 or Dec. 1.

If you wish to recieve the complete info, entry blank, map to courses, etc., please, send me your mailing address. Larry Swanson, 815-877-8164 "
