Can a aluminum frame be retrofitted w/ an EBB? If so who can do it?

Thanks

I don't think so as it would be hard to rethread an aluminum BB shell. Is there a need? I'm sure you can find a BB by whatever maker (Shimano or Campy) with the threading you need.

You don't rethread the BB shell, instead you'd have to replace. EBB's are much larger than a conventional BB shell so a new one would need to welded in. This means redoing 4 major welds. Given that most aluminum tubes are very thin the chances of having it done are very slim.

Got some response back from the guys at the SS Forum and it's a no go for my aluminum frame.

Thanks
