What tire pressures do you guys run on fast, fairly hardpacked, fairly dry courses? I have Specialized Trcross clinchers, and I've been running them at 70 psi.

To be honest, I'm actually a little afraid of running my tires too low. I keep my Michelins around 55 in the dry. 'm not sure if that's normal or advisable, but I find that I have sufficient control and traction without worrying TOO much about pinch flats.

All depends on your weight and riding style. I weigh 160-165 (depending on how much Guinness is in me!) and usually will run skinny (28-32mm) clinchers at around 65 psi if it's relatively smooth. If there are stutter bumps, rocks or roots I may go down to 55 psi. Also helps to "ride light" to avoid pinch flats. With fatter clinchers I'll go down to 50-55 psi and with my TUFOs I'll go all the weigh down to 40 psi, depending on conditions.

Best advice is to just play with and don't be afraid to get a pinchflat or two in the process.

I run around 55 to 60 psi as I'm a Clydesdale. lose some grip but awfully rocky here in Sandy Eggo. Tried going for lower pressure yesterday and could fell everything I rode over bottoming out the tire. 2 pinch flats, second causing a trip to Urgent Care for stitches has me swearing off low pressure unless I magically turn into a flyweight. So I did play around and got a couple pich flats and realized I nedd higher pressure.
